About grapes

Saperavi (Georg.საფერავი, literally «paint») is a Georgian red wine grapes and eponymous red wine. It is the grape variety of late ripening. The peculiarity of this grape variety is large branched clusters. Saperavi is a direct descendant of the autochthonous Kakhetian variety cultivated as far back as 5-6 millennia BC. A distinctive feature of the berries is the dark pink flesh, while in other red varieties only the skin has the pigment.

High insolation of grapes is provided by the slope of the hill at 10-14%, where the vine is planted and by the large lake located 12 km from the vineyards.
